I was interested in the Irish in Asia. Whenever I saw or heard a story from the past about an Irish person in Singapore, Malaysia and beyond, I stored it away in my memory and re-told it to others. Eventually someone said, 'You should write a book.' So I did. Simple as that.

It's been 15 years since the book was first published in March 2008. I've gathered up many additional stories since then. I'm not sure what I will do with all of them.

Some are included in Irish Graduates of Singapore: Four Decades of the Irish Graduates Association of Singapore. This book is the result of four years of research, interviewing and writing. It was published in November 2022 and is available by donation to The Ireland Funds Singapore. Irish Graduates Association of Singapore (IGAS). Originally due out in 2020, the IGAS book launch has been postponed until 2021.
